How much of your life do you spend waiting? In line at the grocery store, in traffic, or for someone or something to change? Waiting for winter to end and spring to come? Waiting can definitely build anticipation, but does it make the future event any sweeter?

To Budini, or Not To Budini?
Since it’s Valentine’s day, I’ll let you in on a little secret… This budini is one of my favorite desserts, and one of the simplest recipes I’ve made. I love simple cooking. If you keep baking chocolate on hand, it can be whipped up in no time flat after the arrival of an unexpected visitor or for a spur of the moment craving after dinner!
What Motivates You?
Check out Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us, by Daniel H. Pink, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly! It’s a well written, entertaining book about a new theory of motivation based largely on autonomy. It’s the kind of book that will truly changed how you think.
Friends, Freedom, & An Analyzed Life
After reading the Art of Travel by Alain De Botton, a popular British philosopher, I’ve become a huge fan. Choose a Different Path This Year
At the beginning of this new decade, I wanted to stop for a moment to remember the choices that life offers us. The title of this poem should give away it’s source, I came across it when I saw the movie by the same name.
Reaching for Gold
On Monday, Dec 28, I checked my American Airlines frequent flyer balance for the first time in ages and clicked on the elite qualifying information maybe for the first time ever… I discovered that I was one flight segment away from Gold status. For all you serious and jaded world travelers, I’m sure this sounds like no big deal since you easily reach Platinum status every year. Not me. Not yet.
A Southern Style New Year’s Day
Black-eyed peas symbolize good luck and prosperity. Some believe that the black-eyed peas represent the “coins,” while the winter greens they’re often served with represent the “dollars.” Eating them together on New Year’s Day is supposed to guarantee many of both in the year to come.
Wishing You Enough in 2010
Whether you’re ringing in the new year surrounded by family or at a fashionable party with a flute of champagne and the familiar stains of Auld Lang Syne, I wish you a wonderful evening tonight and just enough passion, meaning, and inspiration to make 2010 special!
