Today’s podcast features a young doctor who receives a surprising phone call on what seemed to be just another ordinary day. Little did he know what was in store for him next…
Mission to India on The Moth by George Lombardi (16:20 minutes)
I think my favorite part has to be Lombardi’s description of the Pope’s cardiologist and the sisters of charity (aka his security detail) who accompany his throughout his trip and stay in Calcutta. It’s also worth clicking through to The Moth’s page about the podcast (linked above) to see the pictures of the young Lombardi in Calcutta at this time of this story and in the years that followed.
I discovered this particular episode via one of Heidi Swanson’s Favorites Lists at 101 Cookbooks. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
