For nearly as long as I can remember, I’ve had a desire to travel and see the world…
My first trip abroad was to Greece during the summer before my senior year in high school to attend a two week long summer camp on the Ionian coast. We spent time in smaller towns and islands talking to locals, eating fresh watermelon, visiting churches and relics, and finishing with a few days in Athens and iconic Parthenon. It was followed quickly by a family trip to England to visit London, York, and Harrogate. My parents had sent me abroad, before they’d been themselves! So we quickly remedied that situation.
From then on, I was hooked, and I looked for any opportunity to travel. Studying abroad in Copenhagen during college changed the way I thought about the world. Appreciating differences in the way people think and live in Europe became a part of my life during that six months.
After a break from travel during law school and a few (very long!) years of being a brand new lawyer at the bottom of the totem pole, I returned to traveling with renewed vigor and a desire to venture much further afield… I’m not a full time traveler, but as of this writing, I’ve been to 20 countries, 5 continents (not Australia or Antartica yet), and about 100 different cities. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about different peoples, places, and cultures.
The more I learn, the more I realize just how much more there still is left to learn.
I’ve read thousands of articles and blog posts and hundreds of books in an effort to learn more about the world and to make my own travels more informed. This site is my effort to share that information with you. I’ll only be sharing the most intriguing stories and surprising information I’ve discovered while researching my own trips – past and future. Above all, I promise NEVER to bore you!
That’s as good a place to start as any! And, there’s plenty more to come.
