One of the major reasons I moved to California was the proximity to awe inspiring nature. I love Dallas, but it can’t compete. Whatever you might think of the Bay Area’s politics and Silicon Valley techlust, there’s no arguing with this area’s natural beauty.
The last year or so has been calmer, quieter, and spent closer to home. Mostly. But, that’s about to change! As I type this, we’re packing up the final things needed for a weekend in the woods with friend and waiting on George, who is now 7 months old, to wake up from his morning nap. Then, we’re heading to Yosemite!
(It’s been ages since our last trip to Yosemite when we were just dating.)
Wish us luck! This will be our first time camping with a baby. (Any and all suggestions welcome!) I’m really hoping it all goes well because we renewed our National Parks pass, have another campsite booked in Lassen Volcanic National Park in early July, and a trip planned to Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks in August. I can’t wait. They’ve been on my list for way too long.
Any recommendations for Yellowstone or Grand Teton? Trails, out of the way spots to see, favorite restaurants…

I’ve been sharing some sketches and mini book reviews over on Instagram. Below is my favorite so far. If that’s your kind of thing, swing by and check it out.
