Flying from San Francisco to New York City can be a beat down. With the difference in time zones and the 5 hours and 45 minutes of flying time, it’s a full day affair. So whenever I can, I do my best to stay for a weekend or to spend an extra day by adding another meeting. There’s never a shortage of things to do in NYC.
On one rushed trip to the city, I had limited time between meetings near the end of the day to wander and appreciate being in NYC. I’d also promised to bring home a few delicious, big-as-your-face cookies from Levain Bakery on the Upper West Side, but getting there from my Midtown hotel would eat up every last bit of my free time, maybe more.
I’m definitely not the first person to think of using TaskRabbit to avoid a long line — for cookies or cronuts (next time!) — or to help solve business travel problems, but it felt revelatory.
The cookies were every bit as good as they always are, and finding them waiting for me at the concierge after my short walk along 5th Avenue was even better. I’m not a regular Task Rabbit user, but I was impressed by how easy it is to use and will keep it in mind for moments like this in the future!
